17 Things I Want To Accomplish in 2017

New Year Goals 2017 Resolutions best easy to keep
It's been two weeks and I'm still struggling to wrap my head around the fact that it's 2017. 2017 is a strange year to me; I've never actually done any long-term planning past 2016 (which was the year I graduated from undergrad), because anything past that quite honestly seemed mythical and incredibly distant.

In order to take the year by storm, and truly throw myself into 2017, I've decided to keep the list trend from my Top 16 of 2016 post going, and make a list of 17 things I want to accomplish this year. I'm already excited to see what I can check off this list at the end of 2017 (hopefully everything!) and since my New Years resolutions from last year are timeless, I want to continue focusing on them as well.

So without further ado, here are the 17 things I want to do in 2017:

1) Maintain A Consistent Sleep Schedule
Sorry Netflix.

2) Wear Everything In My Closet At Least 10 Times
If I can't wear something at least ten times, it might be time to say goodbye and donate it.

3) Teach Myself Basic Coding
I started doing this in 2015 and it was so incredibly interesting but for some reason I stopped. So, here's to round two.

4) Save More Money
Hello adulthood, it's me.

5) Learn How To Sew
For some reason I don't know how to sew. I can embroider, knit, weave, etc. so it's a little peculiar I can't sew considering it's a basic skill I will 100% need (and have 100% needed in the past).

6) Cook Out Of My Comfort Zone
This is relatively similar to my New Years resolution from 2016, but I have so many recipes I've marked in cookbooks and pinned on Pinterest that I need to branch out and make.

7) Facetime/Catch Up With Friends More Often
I want to be more consistent with reaching out to friends, especially now that so many of my nearest and dearest have taken their incredibly talented selves to different parts of the world.

8) Expand My Vocabulary
I want to know ALL of the words....or at least all of the good ones.

9) Learn How To Extensively Use Photoshop
I've owned Photoshop since Grade 9 and I can do a crazy amount of things with it. However, I want to gain a more in-depth understanding of how I can use it to make my blog photography even better.

10) Travel
Because of my concussion and the flurry of activity that surrounded it, I actually didn't travel at all in 2016. So naturally, after a year of not touching my passport, I've been bitten by the travel bug.

11) Figure Out How To Properly Use Chopsticks
No I'm not the person who needs to ask for a fork, but I'm nowhere near being a chopstick pro. At 22, it would be nice to become chopstick-trained enough to avoid dropping the occasional udon noodle on my lap.

12) Accessorize (a.k.a Actually Wear My Jewelry)
Despite my love of jewelry, I rarely accessorize when I get dressed in the mornings. Jewelry literally has the power to make or break an outfit so this year, I need to make a concerted effort to wear it.

13) Drink Less Coffee
I can already tell this is going to be the hardest one.

14) Become Conversational In Italian
In 2010 I went to Italy, decided Italian is the most beautiful language, and that I had to know how to speak it. On a whim I took an introductory Italian class but never continued on after that. While I know a strange amount of Italian vocabulary, this year I want to master putting those words to use.

15) Try 10 New Restaurants in Toronto
These can be new to me and/or new to Toronto. I need to remember that even though it feels like I know this city like the back of my hand, it has so much more to offer and explore.

16) Write More
Blog more. Handwrite more. Journal more.

17) Take More Pictures
(Hopefully) the year of less photos of food and more photos of people I love.
