New York Tourist What To Do in NY
I went back to New York to visit some friends last week and to absolutely no one's surprise, I took a ton of photos while I was there. I ate my way through the city, went to Belmont Stakes (a once in a lifetime experience that I truly only want to experience once in my lifetime), and returned to l'Appartement Sezane (as seen in my New York, New York post) because it's a floral-loving blogger's dream. If you're looking to live vicariously, or are simply seeking some travel inspiration, look no further!

L'Appartement Sezane

I feel like I need to disclose that this place actually sells really nice stuff and isn't just a fun location for photos. They actually sell home goods, purses, books, shoes, clothing and more. Shopping there is quite honestly a testament to the idea of creating a "consumer shopping experience". The incredible aesthetics, ample seating, free coffee, and overall relaxed vibe make it a nice place to take a breather from the crowded sidewalks of nearby Soho.

There's also a Photo Booth in the store (yes, it's free to use!) with a ton of accessories available so you can take some cute photos to remember your day. You get a printed version, or you can email yourself a digital copy, and you can review the photo for any signs of a double chin/blinking/an unanticipated sneeze before you waste paper printing it.

Belmont Stakes

I went to Belmont Stakes and saw Justify claim the Triple Crown because a) I happened to be in New York; b) it was the 150th Belmont Stakes; and c) why not. I had never been to a horse race (and I've never bet on one), but I was aware of the culture surrounding horse racing and the Triple Crown because it's incredibly intriguing. It's nuts how much money some people put on the races, and impressive to see how strategies range from not having one at all to years of analysis.

It was a fun day full of sunburns and a Third Eye Blind concert (hooray for hearing Closing Time live!) but there were definitely some downfalls. They ran out of food midday, and the craziness of fighting thousands of other people to get back to the city via the train is probably the last thing you want to do after a long day of sitting in the heat. No regrets though and like most of my friends said to me when I invited them, "I don't want to go again, but I highly recommend going once."

Miscellaneous Eats

As per usual, I could never be a food blogger because I dove into most of my meals before I remembered to photograph them. That being said, I've included some eating-related pictures below from The Flying Cock and The Smith. Both were amazing and are super central. The Smith has multiple locations and The Flying Cock is in Murray Hill which is my absolute favourite place to meet people. It's decently central and never feels as busy as other areas of the city. Also, it's full of cool restaurants and bars that have limited waiting times but offer enough variety that you can find a place that makes everyone happy.
