Juice Beauty Launches at Sephora Canada!

Earlier this week, I attended a press event for Juice Beauty. For those of you who don't know, Juice Beauty is a makeup and skincare brand based in Northern California. All of their products are made with certified organic ingredients, and Goop is one of its partners meaning Gwenyth Paltrow is currently the Creative Director of Makeup. Yes, that Gwenyth Paltrow.

I had never heard of Juice Beauty until this year but trust me, it's a beauty brand worth knowing. While there are so many things to love about this brand, I'm going to share the three things I think are the most important to know about it.

1) The Founder

Karen Behnke, the Founder of Juice Beauty, is a true girl boss. Formerly a serial wellness entrepreneur, Karen was inspired to better the beauty community after becoming pregnant with her first child at the age of 40. While pregnant, she developed a greater focus on what kinds of ingredients she was using on her body, and that her skin was absorbing. Noticing there was a gap in the market when it came to healthy skincare options, she set out to create naturally formulated products that could still deliver a luxurious experience. She's an incredible woman with an amazing story, and her entrepreneurial spirit shines through when she talks about Juice Beauty. If you follow the company on Instagram, or Karen herself, you can see how hands-on she still is despite the fact that the brand has grown, and continues to grow, so quickly.

2) Their Eco-Friendly Walk Matches Their Eco-Friendly Talk

This is a brand where "eco-values" isn't just a buzzword. All of the products are completely vegan (meaning they contain zero animal byproducts), and they're never tested on animals. They're all formulated in a way that limits pesticide and synthetic fertilizer residue, and the ingredients are sourced locally. They use sustainable energy and all packaging is made of recycled or FSC certified paper, while the ink they use on the packaging is soy/non-toxic.

STILL not convinced? They literally just bought a farm in Sonoma County so they can start growing their own ingredients, and have even more control over their sustainable processes. They're truly investing in their eco-friendly approach and frankly, it's refreshing to see in the beauty industry. They have a ton of certifications to back all of this up, but it would take the entire post to go through them all.

3) The Products

At this point, you probably have a pretty clear picture of what Juice Beauty's products are like, so it should come as no surprise that they're incredibly high quality. I'm still in the midst of testing out one of their skincare lines so I can't give a full review yet, but there are some perks I can share.

They have an antioxidant and vitamin-rich organic botanical juice base (rather than added water or petroleum derivates), and they're formulated without parabens, silicones, sulphates, talc, artificial dyes/fragrances, and more. In essence, they're CLEAN. You can recognize pretty much every ingredient on the box and for those ingredients with names that are a little more scientific in nature, there's a "translation" in brackets that tells you whether it's an extract, oil, etc. and which fruit or plant it's taken from.

If you're trying to stop supporting brands that engage in unsustainable/cruel practices, seem to have skin reactions to synthetic and harsh ingredients, or you're looking to shake up your beauty routine, I highly recommend checking this brand out. There are tons of different product lines for different skin needs, and all of the online product descriptions are incredibly transparent. The Stem Cellular and Green Apple collections just launched in Sephora in Canada, and the rest of their products can be found online. If you're still hesitant, I'll be posting a product review of both collections soon. Stay tuned!
