Read. Watch. Listen. (02.23.15.)

What to read, watch and listen to this week.

READ: "How To Be a Friend In Deed"

While I do spend most of my time on the internet scouring endless social networks and blogs, and taking every BuzzFeed quiz, I do occasionally dabble in The New York Times. This week, I stumbled across an article called "How To Be a Friend Indeed" by Bruce Feiler. The best way I can describe this article is that it is a definite reality check, and will help you be a more conscious friend.

Here's an excerpt:

"In the last few months, I’ve been surrounded by friends in need.... In each case, I struggled with what to do. I don’t make casseroles; I’m not likely to run into these friends in our daily lives, and I’m not part of their inner circle....But what if you want to do more? What if you don’t want to succumb to the drive-by badges of contemporary friendship — a “like,” an emoji, a hashtag (#JeSuisThinkingofYou)."

WATCH: John Legend and Common

John Legend and Common performed "Glory" at the Academy Awards this past weekend.
They also won an Oscar for it.
I cried. Chris Pine cried. David Oyelowo cried. You'll cry.

LISTEN: Lady Gaga's 'Sound of Music' Tribute

I've never been Lady Gaga's biggest fan, but I have watched her music videos and bought her hits that have made it into the iTunes Top 10. That being said, my jaw literally dropped when I watched her Sound of Music tribute. I had NO idea she would be able to nail these notes so perfectly. Check out the unbelievable mash-up tribute of the timeless songs below.
